Raising money for charity

Focus12 is a fantastic charity in Suffolk, UK. They offer residential and day treatment services for suffers of drug and alcohol addiction. Established in 1997 it offers a full range of services from individual counselling, detox, family services and a full 12-week treatment program.

I was lucky enough to begin my counsellor training there back in 2001. I worked with a great team who generously imparted there knowledge and wisdom to me. Working with addicts and alcoholics isn’t always easy but it is immensely rewarding to see lives repaired and families healed. It wasn’t until I left Focus12 in 2009 that I realised what a strong foundation it had given me in my therapeutic work. I really believe that I am the counsellor I am today because of my training and experience with them.
Although Russell Brand, Davina McCall and Boy George are all patrons of the charity they are constantly looking to raise more funds.
With this in mind, my way of saying ‘thank you’ is to offer a percentage of my UK sales to Focus12.
My goal is to be able to pay for at least one person to go through their treatment program.
‘Why you drink and How to stop: journey to freedom’ is very much inspired by my work at Focus12. If you would like to know more about this wonderful charity, you can do so here.
